DOANE, WILLIAM CROSWELL SIGNED SLIP EPISCOPAL BISHOP ALBANY, NY, ALL SAINTS CATHEDRAL

WILLIAM CROSWELL DOANE (1832-1913) SIGNED SLIP, "Believe me my dear Sir. I am sincerely your friend, Wm. Croswell Doane, Bishop of Albany, Feb 14 AD 1880", 3.5 x 2.5, the 1st Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Albany, NY, where he managed the construction of the Cathedral of All Saints, the first Episcopal cathedral built for that purpose in the United States. It is now on the National Register of Historic Places. Doane is probably best known today for his Anglican hymn, "Ancient of Days". In fine condition, with age toning, and mounting remnants on the reverse with no show through.
