WERNER KARL HEISENBERG (1901-1976) SIGNED PHOTOGRAPH, “Werner Heisenberg), extremely scarce glossy 4 x 6, head-and-shoulders photo affixed to a 5.25 x 7 mount, signed on the mount in fountain pen, by the German theoretical physicist and one of the key pioneers of quantum mechanics, which is a fundamental theory in physics that provides a description of the physical properties of nature at the scale of atoms and subatomic particles. It is the foundation of all quantum physics. He published his work in 1925 in a breakthrough paper, which was followed the same year with a series of papers with Max Born and Pascual Jordan in which the matrix formulation of quantum mechanics was substantially elaborated. Heisenberg is known for the uncertainty principle which he published in 1927. He was awarded the 1932 Nobel Prize “for the creation of quantum mechanics”.
