$195.00

Description

WENDELL PHILLIPS QUOTE SIGNED, "Wendell Phillips, 1880", by American attorney and abolitionist, and advocate for women's and Native American rights. The quote is probably in support of his advocacy for the labor movement: "business - to be entered upon with courage, in the spirit of self sacrifice." In fine condition, with age toning and staining along bottom edge.

Wendell Phillips (1811 - 1884) was an American attorney and abolitionist crusader whose oratorical eloquence helped fire the antislavery cause during the period leading up to the American Civil War. He was a great speaker and writer who fought for woman's rights, Native American rights, temperance, and labor movements.
