JOHN TYLER (1790-1862) SIGNED SLIP, “John Tyler”, boldly signed on a slip 3 x 1, by the 10th U.S. President (1841-45), who after briefly holding the office as the 10th Vice-President, succeeded to the presidency after President William Henry Harrison death 31 days after entering office. Years late, when the American Civil War began in 1861, Tyler sided with the Confederacy despite his initial support of the Peace Conference. He presided over the opening of the Virginia Secession Convention and won election to the Confederate House of Representatives shortly before his death. This large, bold signature is in fine condition.
