HE WAS ONE OF THE YOUNGEST MAJOR GENERALS IN THE ARMY DURING THE AMERICAN CIVIL WAR AND HE SAW ACTION AT FIRST BULL RUN, THE PENINSULA CAMPAIGN, HARPERS FERRY, SOUTH MOUNTAIN, ANTIETAM, AND CHANCELLORSVILLE. HERE HE SIGNS AN UNCOMMON CIVIL WAR PHOTO THAT SHOWS HIM IN UNIFORM. PSA/DNA
HENRY W. SLOCUM SIGNED PHOTO, “Yours truly, H. W. Slocum”, 2.5 x 3.75, photo by Lazier of Syracuse, pictured in uniform, by the Union General during the American Civil War who later served in the U. S. House of Representatives from New York. During the war, he was one of the youngest major generals in the Army and fought numerous major battles in the Eastern Theater and in Georgia and the Carolinas. In very good to fine condition, with trimmed edges, a small stain, a small emulsion tear to the top edge, and old mounting residue on the back. Encapsulated in a PSA/DNA authentication holder.
