BEAUTY] (1959) ORIGINAL WALT DISNEY PRODUCTION DRAWING OF STEFAN,
15.5 X 12.5, in graphite pencil, on animation paper, three peg holes at
bottom, numbered 301-G1/2 in pencil lower right, no fold line or creases, in fine condition.
Sleeping Beauty," is
based on a fairy tale created between 1330 and 1344 and published in multiple
versions over the centuries. The
story involves a beautiful princess, a sleeping enchantment, and a handsome
prince. These
drawings are uniformly sized and It takes a single drawing for every frame of
the film. King Stefan is looking aloof and serious in this drawing and is sized 7.5 x 5.5.
Animation
paper has perforations at the bottom to accommodate fitting on an animators peg bar. The peg bar is an animation tool
used in traditional cel animation to keep the drawings in place. The pins in
the peg bar match the holes in the paper. It is attached to the animator’s desk
or light table, depending on which is being used.
