NOBEL PRIZE WINNER SIR WILLIAM RAMSAY QUOTES 17^TH CENTURY POLYMATH, SIR THOMAS BROWNE, WHO WROTE ABOUT THE SCIENTIFIC REVOLUTION OF HIS TIME “THAT NATURE DOES NOTHING IN VAIN”

SIR WILLIAM RAMSAY (1852-1916) HANDWRITTEN QUOTE SIGNED “William Ramsay”, on a 4.25 x 2 card, by the English professor of Chemistry and 1904 Nobel Prize winner for his discovery of the noble (inert) gases helium, neon, argon, krypton and xenon. And who earlier, in 1894, together with Lord Rayleigh (1842-1919) discovered the rare gas argon. Ramsay was also the only man to discover a complete Periodic Group of elements. In full: “Natura nihil agit frustra [that nature does nothing in vain] is the only undisputed Axiom in Philosophy – Sir Thomas Brown’s Religio Medici” [The Religion of a Physician]. In fine condition, with minor age toning and mounted to slightly larger card stock.
