Robert Hofstadter (1915-90) Signed Slip, "To Mr. Hans P. Nielsen, Robert Hofstadter", 4.75 X 2.50, enclosed in a protective cellaphane cover, by the American physicist who was the joint winner of the 1961 Nobel Prize in Physics "for his pioneering studies of electron scattering in atomic nuclei and for his consequent discoveries concerning the structure of nucleons". Hofstadter taught at Stanford from 1950 to 1985. The Big Bang Theory popular TV sitcom supposedly named one of its main characters, Leonard Hofstadter, after Hofstadter. Comes with original newspaper clippings regarding him winning the Nobel Prize. All items are in fine condition, with age toning to the clippings.
