Robert Cumming Schenck (1809-90) was a Union Army general in the American Civil War, and American diplomatic representative to Brazil and the United Kingdom. He was at both battles of Bull Run (wounded at Second Battle of Bull Run), took part in Jackson's Valley Campaign of 1862, and the Battle of Cross Keys. He was also in the U.S. House of Representatives (4-terms) in 1840's and President of the Ft Wayne Western Railroad Company.
