RICHARD CHENEVIX TRENCH (1807-1886) HANDWRITTEN LTR. SIGNED, "I remain your faithfull servant, Rich. C. Dublin", 4.5 x 4, Palace Dublin, April 17, 1880, as Archbishop of Dublin, philologist (Oxford English Dictionary, The Study of Words -1851, English Past and Present - 1855, A Select Glossary of English Words -1859), poet, and prolific author. In Full: "Rev'd Sir, These two lines will contain what you desire." Probably written in acknowledgement of an autograph request. In fine condition, with age toning a few stains on edges and mounting remnants on reverse.
