REV. DAVID SWING QUOTE SIGNED, "Yours ever, David Swing", 4.25 x 3.5, by the most popular Chicago preacher of his time who was tried by the Presbytery of Chicago on charges of heresy based on a long list of complaints about his religious teachings. He was acquitted but left that church and founded Central Church, with many of his former parishioners following him. He published Truths for Today which included most of his "heretical" utterances. He was also professor of classics at Miami University. He handwrites and signs a quote: "In small things men differ, in the great they agree, as in life the heart guards but in death it loves and forgives". In fine condition, with age toning and a few stains along the edges.
