REAR ADMIRAL CHARLES STEEDMAN (1811-90) SIGNED SLIP, "Chas. Steedman, U. S. Navy", 5.5 x 1, by U. S. Navy officer who fought in the Mexican-American War at Vera Cruz and Tampico. In the Civil War he saw action at the Battle of Port Royal, the attack on Fort McAllister, and the capture of the forts on St. John's Bluff. After the war he commanded the Boston Navy Yard. In fine condition, with minor age toning and one crease on right end.
