PAUL EHRLICH (1854-1915) SIGNED CARD, “Prof. P. Ehrlich/Frankfort”, on a 4 x 2.5 card”, c 1913, by the German bacteriologist who found the cure for syphilis, thereby initiating and also naming the concept of chemotherapy. And, in 1908, he received the Nobel Prize for his contributions to immunology. Ehrlich reasoned that if a compound could be made that selectively targeted a disease-causing organism, then a toxin for that organism could be delivered along with the agent of selectivity. Hench a “magic bullet” would be created that killed only the organism targeted. This rare signature is in fine condition, with minor age toning.
