RAIMUNDO DE MADRAZO HAND DRAWN SKETCH SIGNED, "R. du Madrazo", 5 x 7 cream colored paper, in ink, by Spanish realist painter. The original sketch shows a view down a long path that passes tall trees and takes us toward the gates of a multi-building estate. Age toning, one spot near top, and signs of the pen nib slipping and making a surface scratch that leads to a small tear on the edge touching the right side of the signature, otherwise a nice rare original drawing probably done in Paris, France.
Raimundo de Madrazo (1841-1920) was a Spanish born realist painter in the Madrazo family of artists, including his brother Ricardo Frederico de Madrazo, his father Federico de Madrazo, and his nephew Luis de Madrazo. He was born in Rome but lived in Paris most of his life, where he had his studio.
