LUISA TETRAZZINI SIGNED PHOTO OF ITALIAN COLORATURA SOPRANO TO OPERA STAR EMMA NEVADA, 7 X 9, vintage portrait, inscribed in Italian (not translated) "Alla grande Emma Nevada..., Luisa Tetrazzini, London, 6 November 1921". Lower right corner loose and backed with small piece of tape, mounting remnants on reverse with minor show through at top, light stain along bottom that is barely visible, otherwise in fine condition.
Luisa Tetrazzini (1871-1940) was an Italian coloratura soprano of great international fame. She made her debut in Florence, Italy in 1890 and made her American debut in 1905 in San Francisco and was later under contract with Oscar Hammerstein. She appeared at the Metropolitan Opera for one season 1911-12. She retired in 1932.
Emma Nevada (1859-1940) was an American operatic soprano who was considered one of the finest coloratura sopranos of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
