Leopold Anthony Stokowski (1882-1977) Typed Letter Signed, "Leopold Stokowski", 5.5 x 8.25, one page, to Fabian Sevitzky, the Russian-born American conductor who had a long association as the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra conductor, 19 January 43, in part: "...Because my time is at present so crowded with other work, including two kinds of work for the government, I am not able to accept invitations to become a member of boards or committees....", by the English conductor of Polish descent. One of the leading conductors of the early and mid-20th century, he is best known for his long association with the Philadelphia Orchestra and his appearance in the Disney film Fantasia. In fine condition, with usual letter folds and a pencil notation to "file".
