RENE LALIQUE (1860-1945) HANDWRITTEN LETTER SIGNED, “R. Lalique”, one page, 5.25 x 7, on his personal letterhead with his “40, COURS – LA – REINE” address (where he moved in 1902 to his new residence and workshop and lived the next 43 years until his death), in French, with translation, by the French jeweler, glass designer, and medalist known for his creations of glass art, perfume bottles, vases, jewelry, chandeliers, clocks, and automobile hood ornaments. In full (translated): “Thank you my dear friend for the kind thought that accompanied your stone this morning. I will make a piece of jewelry in the form of a kingfisher bird I will show you on the first Saturday.” In fine condition, with minor age toning and some creasing along the edges.
