Kessler, John T. Scopes", 6.25 x 9.5; a bold signature of the defense attorney "Clarence Darrow", on a 3.5 x 2 card; and a typed letter signed by the prosecuting attorney "W. J. Bryan", 8.5 x 7 The Commoner personal letterhead, May 18, 1904, in which he is permitting the charitable use of his name. In overall very good to fine condition, with splitting to some of the multiple intersecting folds on the Bryan letter. Comes with copies of multiple trial photos, and a nine-page copy of the "Chronology of The Evolution-Creationism Controversy". This historic archive would make an exceptional ensemble presentation.
