JOHN FRANKLIN FARNSWORTH SIGNED CUT SIGNATURE, "J. F. Farnsworth, St Charles, Illinois", 5.25 x 2.75, large ink signature of the Civil War Cavalry General, 7-term U.S. Congressman, and participant in the Underground Railroad. In fine condition.

John Franklin Farnsworth (1820-97) was a Chicago, IL lawyer, seven-term U.S. Representative from Illinois, and a cavalry general in the Union Army during the American Civil War where he fought at the Battle of Williamsburg, the Seven Day Battle, and sparred with Confederate cavalry under General J.E.B. Stuart & General Wade Hampton in the Maryland Campaign. His mansion in Chicago became a stop in the underground railroad
