JANE FREILICHER HAND-SIGNED OFFSET LITHOGRAPH, "Jane Freilicher", 5.25 x 7, blue ink, of American artist 1974 oil painting: VIEW OVER MECOX BAY. This beautiful offset lithograph, of a pastoral view from her home on Mecox Bay, is hand-signed on the verso of this 1975 Fischbach Gallery edition celebrating her recent paintings. In fine condition, we one crease in lower right corner.
Jane Freilicher (1924-2014) was an American representational painter of urban and country scenes from her homes in lower Manhattan and on Mecox Bay in Water Mill, Long Island where she completed the "softly brushed, meditative lyric" landscape oil painting in this offset lithograph in 1974. She was a member of the informal New York School beginning in the 1950s, and a muse to several of its poets and writers. Her work is in countless major museums including the Museum of Modern Art and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
