Considered one of the most famous scientific discoveries of all time
JAMES WATSON SIGNED ORIGINAL SKETCH OF DOUBLE HELIX DNA STRAND ON 5 X 3 UNLINED INDEX CARD. THE EXTREMELY RARE ORIGINAL SKETCH IS DONE BY WATSON WHO HAS LABELED IT "DNA," AND WRITTEN BASE PAIRS "A-T/G-C" AT TOP/RIGHT. IN FINE CONDITION.
The molecular structure of DNA was identified by James Watson and Francis Crick in 1953 and is considered one of the most famous scientific discoveries of all time. They jointly won the Nobel Prize in 1962 for Physiology or Medicine for their discoveries. Their discovery was based on the work of one of their colleagues, Rosalind Franklin, at Kings College in London. She died early and did not participate in the Nobel Prize because it can only go to living people. DNA is a molecule that carries the genetic instructions of life in all know living organisms and many viruses. Watson's extremely rare signed sketch shows the structure of the DNA double helix. Currently, the two strands, with long braided twist, that form DNA's helix are nicknamed Watson and Crick. A wonderful historic find for the discerning collector.
