GEORGE A CUSTER FORT A LINCOLN OFFICIAL US ARMY SUPPLY VOUCHER, one page, 11 x 8.25, Fort A. Lincoln, May 28, 1878. Request for 8 mule harnesses, 16 lead mule harness, 4 curry combs, and four horse brushes. The voucher was requested by Lt. William Badger and authorized by Captain e. D. Baker. In fine condition. Fort Abraham Lincoln will forever be associated with Custer, who was the first post commander, of the expanded fort, from 1873 until his death in 1876. In 1876, the Army departed from here as part of the Great Sioux War of 1876-77, resulting in Custer's defeat at the Battle of the Little Bighorn.
