GAINES, ERNEST J. SIGNED ENVELOPE AND COMPLETED IN HIS HAND, A LESSON BEFORE DYING

Ernest James Gaines Signed Photo Mailer Envelope, "Ernest J. Gaines, 998 Dinisaderce St., San Francisco, Calif, 94115", 9.5 x 6.5,  probably May 1971, completed in his hand,  by the African-American author whose works have been taught in college classrooms and translated into many languages, including French, Spanish, German, Russian and Chinese. His 1993 novel, A Lesson Before Dying, won the National Book Critics Circle Award. Four of his works have been made into television movies. In fine condition, with irregular right edge.
