EDWIN JAMES HOUSTON (1847-1914) HANDWRITTEN QUOTE SIGNED, “Edwin J. Houston”, on a card 4 x 2.5, Oct. 21, 1913, by the American electrical engineer, academic, businessman, inventor, author, who, while teaching physics, helped design an arc-light generator with his student, Elihu Thompson, and together they founded Thomson-Houston Electric Company (1882) which later merged with Edison General Electric Company to form General Electric. He later formed a consulting company and co-published a series called “Primers of Electricity”. He also authored books for a series called “The Wonder Books of Science”. The handwritten quote, in full: “In the beginning God created the heaven and the Earth/Gen.1.1.” In fine condition, with minor age toning.
