EDMUND GWENN (1877-1959) HANDWRITTEN LETTER SIGNED by Academy Award winning English actor for his role as Kris Kringle in Miracle on 34th Street, one page, on Piccadilly Theatre letterhead, 5 x 8, 6/5/31, In Part: "...I regret being unable to accede to your request re June 13th. In great haste, Yours truly, Edm. Gwenn." He was a noted stage actor both in the London West End and on Broadway. He lived in the U.S. after WWII and had a successful career in Hollywood and on Broadway. He is best remembered for his role as Kris Kringle, an eccentric old man, who imagined he was Santa Clause, in The Miracle on 34th Street. Comes with an 8 x 10 photo. The letter has some minor soiling and a few minor creases, otherwise in fine condition.
