EARL WARREN SIGNED TYPESCRIPT ABOUT JOHN F. KENNEDY ASSASSINATION

$500.00

Description

"we can all be better Americans because John Fitzgerald Kennedy has passed our way"

Earl Warren (1891 – 1974) Signed Typescript About Assassination of President John F. Kennedy, "Earl Warren", 8 x 10.5, the American politician and jurist who served as the 14th Chief Justice of the United States (1953–1969) and earlier as the 30th Governor of California(1943–1953). The Warren Court presided over a major shift in constitutional jurisprudence, with Warren writing the majority opinions in landmark cases such as Brown v. Board of Education, Reynolds v. Sims, and Miranda v. Arizona. Warren also led the Warren Commission, a presidential commission that investigated the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy. In Part: "If we really love this country; if we truly love justice and mercy; if we fervently want to make this Nation better for those who are to follow us...the hatred that consumes people, the false accusations that divide us and the bitterness that beget violence. Is it too much to hope that the martyrdom of our beloved President might even soften the hearts of those who would themselves recoil from assassination, but who do not shrink from spreading the venom which kindles thoughts of it in others? Our Nation is bereaved...But we can all be better Americans because John Fitzgerald Kennedy has passed our way, because he has been our chosen leader at a time in history when his character, his vision and his quiet courage have enabled him to chart for us a safe course...may he rest in peace." In fine condition, with minor age toning, one staple hole upper left and a few edge nicks.
