David Matthew Kennedy (1905-96) Signed Photo, "David M. Kennedy", 4 x 5, b/w, portrait of him at his desk, by the American politician and businessman. He served as the 60th U.S. Secretary of the Treasury and later as the 8th U.S. Ambassador to NATO, both under U.S. President Richard Nixon. He was Chief Executive and Chairman of the Board of Continental Illinois during the 1950s and 1960s. Comes with an informative Department of State letter of transmittal Signed by "Mary E. Harris", Personal Assistant to the Ambassador at Large, , 8 x 10.5, April 1, 1971, In Part: "...autographed photograph of Ambassador at Large David M. Kennedy...Mr. Kennedy's tenure as Secretary of the Treasury terminated on February 10, 1971. He was sworn in the following day by President Nixon as United States Ambassador at Large...." Also included is the original Department of State mailing envelope. All three items in fine condition, with age toning on the envelope.
