CHARLES RICHET (1850-1935) SIGNED QUOTE, “Charles Richet”, on a card 4 x 3, 23 May 1919, by the French physiologist known for his pioneering work in immunology. In 1913 he won the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in recognition of his work on anaphylaxis (a serious allergic reaction). He is also well known for his study of paranormal and spiritualist phenomena, coining the “ectoplasm”. He later turned to the study of eugenics and served as President of the French Eugenics Society. He had many interests and wrote books on many subjects: aviation, history, sociology, philosophy, psychology, theatre, and poetry.
