SIR CEDRIC HARDWICKE (1893-1964) SIGNED PHOTO, "Cedric Hardwicke", 3.5 X 5.5, a stunning, close up, postcard portrait by photographer Dorothy Wilding, by the English stage and film actor whose career spanned nearly fifty years. His theatre work included notable performances in productions of the plays of Shakespeare and George Bernard Shaw, and his long list of film work included leading roles in a number of adapted literary classics. In fine condition.
Dorothy Frances Edith Wilding (1893-1976) was a noted English professional portrait photographer from Gloucester, who established successful studios in both London and New York. She is known for her portraits of the British Royal Family, some of which were used to illustrate postage stamps, and in particular for her studies of actors and celebrities which expertly fused glamour with modernist elegance.
