$195.00

Description

Carl August Sandburg (1878-1967) Signed and inscribed to Dorothy Day: Always The Young Strangers, "Dorothy Day with salutations and reverence - Carl Sandburg 1953", signed on the half-title page, Harcourt, Brace and Company, NY, no dust jacket, by the Swedish-American poet, biographer, journalist, and editor. He won three Pulitzer Prizes: two for his poetry and one for his biography of Abraham Lincoln. In good condition, with some fading and light stains to covers.

Dorothy Day (1897-1980) was an American journalist, social activist and anarchist who, after a bohemian youth, became a Catholic Christian without in any way abandoning her social and anarchist activism. She was perhaps the best-known political radical in the American Catholic Church.
