PAUL CADMUS ART SERVED AS A REMINDER THAT, CONTRARY TO THE STANDARD VIEW, REALISM WAS STILL A VITAL TRADITION IN AMERICAN ART. THIS OFFSET LITHOGRAPH IS SIGNED TWICE.
PAUL CADMUS (1904-1999) HAND-SIGNED OFFSET LITHOGRAPH OF “RESTING NUDE”, “Paul Cadmus”, 6 x 7.5, stunningly matted and framed in silver to an overall size of 9.5 x 11, by the American artist widely known for his paintings of gritty social interactions in urban settings. He also produced many highly finished drawings of single nude male figures as in this offset lithograph “Resting Nude” (1996). His paintings combine elements of eroticism and social critique in a style often called magic realism. This lithograph is signed twice: hand-signed below the image and signed in-print. It is in fine condition.
