A HANDWRITTEN LETTER BETWEEN TWO FAMOUS 19TH CENTURY ENGLISH BOTANISTS REGARDING A MEETING AT THE ROYAL BOTANIC GARDEN, KEW
ROBERT BENTLEY (1821-93) HANDWRITTEN LETTER SIGNED, “Robert Bentley”, 1 pg, 4.5 x 7, Wednesday Morning, King’s College, by the English botanist and pharmacologist, who was a professor of botany at King’s College London, and is best known for Medicinal Plants (1880: 4-Volumes) and A Manual of Botany (1861). The letter is written to English botanist and taxonomist, Maxwell Tylden Masters (1833-1907), author of Vegetable Teratology and editor of the Gardeners’ Chronicle. The letter is regarding a meeting at the Royal Botanic (probably the Royal Botanic Garden, Kew) on Saturday. The letter is in fine condition, with minor age toning.
