CLARA BARTON (1821-1912) SIGNED PHOTO, “Clara Barton”, 4.75 x 7, mounted album portrait in profile by photo studio Smith of Evanston, IL, neatly signed in ink, by the pioneering nurse who worked on the front lines at several battles, including Cedar Mountain, Second Bull Run, Antietam, and Fredericksburg during the American Civil War. She was the founder of the American Red Cross. She is known for her humanitarian work at a time when few women worked outside the home. In fine condition, with old adhesive mounting residue along the bottom edge of the mount, and some small marks to the edges. Encapsulated in a PSA/DNA authentication holder.
