CHARLES CARDALE BABINGTON (1808-95) HANDWRITTEN LETTER SIGNED, “Yours truly, Charles C. Babington”, 4.5 x7, 1 pg. with address leaf, 3 August 1865, St. John’s College, by the English botanist, archaeologist, and professor of botany at University of Cambridge, letter to W. Walton, Philosophical Society’s House, All Saints Passage, accepting a dinner invitation, in full: “Dear Walton: I have much pleasure in accepting Mrs. Walton & your kind invitation to dine with you on Thursday the 10th at 6:30.” The letter is in fine condition, with age toning along the left edge and small opening-tear on the address leaf next to the seal.
