ARTHUR AMOS NOYES (1866-1936) SIGNED CARD, “Arthur A. Noyes”, on a card 4.5 x 2.5, by the American chemist, inventor, and educator who served as acting president of MIT (1907-09) and Professor of Chemistry at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech, 1919-36). Along with Willis Rodney Whitney, he formulated the Noyes-Whitney equation in 1897, an important equation in pharmaceutical science. He was president of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (1927). The card is in fine condition, with minor age toning and the city and date, “Pasadena, Dec. 14, 1920” in another hand on lower left.
