AMBROISE THOMAS SIGNED CABINET PHOTO, "Ambroise Thomas", 4.5 x 6.5, Nadar Studio, Paris back stamp, with a handwritten music quote attached at bottom, of the French operatic composer of Mignon and Hamlet. Comes in the original antique glass frame with metal easel back. The glass has a small chip in upper left corner and the photo has some age toning, small scratch upper left, some minor edge wear, otherwise in fine condition.
Ambroise Thomas (1811-1896) was a French composer and teacher who was most famous for his operas Mignon and Hamlet.
Gaspard-Félix Tournachon (1820–1910), known by the pseudonym Nadar, was a French photographer, caricaturist, journalist, novelist, and balloonist. Photographic portraits by Nadar are held by many of the great national collections of photographs.
