ADMIRAL JOHN D. BULKELEY AUTOGRAPHED FIRST DAY COVER, 6.5 X 3.75, HONORING DOUGLAS MACARTHUR, who he rescued in the Philippines in WWII, Medal of Honor recipient, a daring, resourceful and courageous leader, one of the most decorated Naval officers. This First Day of Issue in honor of General Douglas MacArthur, postmarked Jan 26, 1971, bears a wonderful image, a six-cent MacArthur postage stamp, and is boldly signed, "John D. Bulkeley, Vice Admiral, U.S. Navy." After his rescue General MacArthur said to Admiral Bulkeley "You have taken me out of the jaws of death. I shall never forget it."
